TOOR
A deep, round-bottomed pot or bowl, often handcrafted by skilled coppersmiths, locally known as ‘Thanthur’. ‘Toor’ is used in Kashmiri households for cooking rice, meat-based dishes like ‘Rogan Josh’ or ‘Yakhni’ and sometimes even for storing water, milk or buttermilk. It’s excellent heat retention and antibacterial properties make it ideal for long hours of slow cooking.
